New Delhi: Gold and silver extended their losses in the capital on Saturday on sustained stock sale amid a weakening global trend.
While gold fell by Rs 50 to RS27, 250 per ten grams, silver shed RS120 to RS41, 410 per kg.
Dealers said sustained weakening sales of camp in line with the global trend, as a stronger dollar curbed demand for alternative investments, helped mainly gold and silver to give more ground.
Gold in New York, which is usually the price trend on the domestic front, fell by 0.06% to $ 1,284.80 an ounce and silver by 1.17% to $ 19.92 per ounce.
Domestically, gold fell by 99.9 and 99.5% purity by Rs 50 each to RS27, RS27 and 250, 050 per ten grams, respectively. It was poured RS25 Wednesday.
Sovereign followed suit and traded lower by Rs 50 RS24, 150 per piece of eight grams
In line with a general weak trend, silver fell by RS120 to RS41, 410 per kg and weekly-based delivery of RS41 to RS70, 460 per kg. The white metal had lost in the previous RS220 operation.
On the other hand held silver coins Rs79, 000 for the purchase of stationary and RS80, 000 for selling of 100 pieces have been limited to existing higher levels.
